A clearer routine for food, training, and the trading day

Patrick Lovelace · Day trader and creator

Patrick Lovelace

The starting point

Patrick was a 22-year-old day trader and creator who looked lean and healthy from the outside. His day-to-day experience felt different. In the account he shared with Optimability, he described ordering food for most meals, feeling tired by midday, and being “brain fogged the whole time.”

He wanted more structure but did not yet have a routine he could rely on. Food was largely improvised, his energy felt unpredictable, and trading had begun to feel like clocking into an office job rather than doing work he enjoyed.

Longstanding back discomfort was another consideration. Patrick wanted to build strength and feel better without ignoring pain he had experienced since high school. He needed support that accounted for those limitations and could still work when he traveled.

The support around him

The team coordinated testing and considered the results alongside Patrick’s health history, symptoms, and schedule. That information informed follow-up and a plan specific to the concerns he had brought in.

Chef-prepared meals gave him food he could rely on without ordering every meal. Nutrition was adjusted as the team followed his feedback, rather than assuming that the first plan would remain right indefinitely.

Training began with an emphasis on mobility and work suited to his limitations. Heavier movements depended on appropriate physiotherapy clearance, keeping his back concerns part of the planning rather than something to push through.

Food and training guidance also accounted for travel. Patrick worked on recognizing which choices suited him so that being away from home did not mean abandoning everything he had started.

In his own words

Once my gut improved, my mental got way clearer.
Patrick Lovelace

About a month into the program, Patrick described clearer thinking and less of a midday crash. His own account connected feeling better in his gut with feeling mentally clearer. That describes his experience; it does not establish which part of the support caused the change.

He was also building a more practical understanding of his routine. Knowing which foods left him feeling worse helped him make decisions on trips, rather than relying entirely on a perfect setup at home.

His attention turned toward mobility, weight, and strength goals within a more consistent day. The early change he emphasized was having more clarity and a routine he could actually follow while continuing to trade and travel.
