The starting point
Nathan grew up playing sports at a high level. Teams, training, and the people around him gave physical activity a regular place in his life. As he moved into entrepreneurship, those commitments fell away, and staying active became something he had to organize on his own.
He still went to the gym a few times a week, but he was not seeing the progress he wanted. In his interview, he describes putting his energy, focus, and time into the business while nutrition and training received less attention. Over time, he felt further from the athletic condition he remembered.
Nathan knew Ioan from high school and reached out during Optimability’s early days. He wanted to get back on track without having to learn, plan, and coordinate every part of his health while also building a company.
The support around him
Weekly training plans gave Nathan a clear routine to follow. He describes the team adjusting the programming as his training and progress developed, rather than leaving him with one fixed template.
Meal plans were adapted alongside the training. Nathan valued not having to think through every change himself while still receiving support that reflected his own starting point and needs.
Someone came into his home multiple times a week to handle cooking and cleaning. Food preparation stopped taking time away from work, training, or the activities he wanted to enjoy.
The relationship continued beyond the initial setup. Nathan describes close attention from Martin, Ioan, and the wider team, with ongoing support as his routine evolved.
In his own words
“The majority of my time, if it's not spent working, then it's spent having fun.”
Nathan says the biggest surprise was how smoothly the different parts fitted into his life. Training and nutrition were being adjusted without creating more work for him. That made the support feel personal while keeping the day-to-day demands manageable.
At the time of the interview, he was enjoying training enough to spend roughly an hour or two a day on it. Cooking and cleaning were a different story: he described spending essentially no time on those tasks because someone else was handling them.
He now places more importance on the fundamentals: sleep, hydration, nutrition, and training. In his experience, keeping those in place helps him feel more energetic and focused. Just as importantly, when he is not working, he has more room for the parts of life he enjoys.
