A connected health program moving from testing to interpretation, daily execution, and reassessment

Which health program fits your needs?

An integrated health program connects health tests with a plan and ongoing support. The best fit depends on how much of that work you want help with. Some people need test results they can take to their doctor. Others want a team to help manage food, training, and follow-up.

Optimability is built for the second group. We help people put a health plan into daily use, with chef support available in the right service tier. Fountain Life offers advanced screening and medical care. Function Health offers broad lab testing with clinician insights.

This guide is published by Optimability. We compare the services each provider lists, not their clients’ health outcomes. Provider details were checked on September 15, 2026. Confirm the current scope before you join.

Ask who handles meals, workout changes, bookings, and travel plans between check-ins.

Where Optimability fits

You may already know that your food, sleep, or training needs work. Finding time to plan meals, book tests, and sort through advice can still be hard. Optimability takes on much of that planning and follow-up.

We start with your goals, health history, test results, and current routine. Then we build the food, training, and supplement plan around your week. The support can include chef services, meal prep, and changes for travel, based on the scope you choose.

For example, a week of flights and late dinners may call for shorter workouts and meals planned around your hotel. You have someone to make those changes with you instead of starting from scratch.

This is a good fit if you want help doing the work each week. It may be more support than you need if you enjoy managing your own plan. Optimability’s founders are coaches, not physicians. Medical findings and treatment decisions need qualified clinicians.

Optimability vs Fountain Life

Fountain Life’s APEX membership combines advanced tests with a medical care team. Its public page lists imaging, blood testing, and access to a physician, nurse, health coach, nutritionist, and care coordinator. It offers ongoing support as well as screening.

That makes it worth a look if advanced screening and medical access are your main goals. Ask which visits require travel to a center and how the team follows up on findings.

Optimability focuses on how the plan works at home, at the gym, and during a busy week. If meals are your main challenge, ask both providers who plans, shops, cooks, and cleans. Nutrition guidance and a private chef are different services. A chef is not listed as an included APEX benefit on the page we reviewed.

Optimability vs Function Health

Function Health lists more than 160 lab tests across the year, with a main round and follow-up testing. Members receive clinician-reviewed insights, an action plan, and a way to track results. Some extra tests and services cost more.

This can suit someone who wants broad lab access and is happy to manage the next steps with their own doctor. Function says it does not itself provide diagnosis or treatment. Ask how urgent results are handled and where to take questions that need medical care.

Optimability adds hands-on planning for the week after the results arrive. We help turn agreed priorities into meals, training, and a routine you can follow. If you already have blood work, ask what can be used before paying for more tests.

Check what happens at each step

A long list of tests is easy to compare. The work after the test is less clear. Ask for a walkthrough from the first blood draw to the next review.

StepA useful question
TestWhat question will this test answer?
ReviewWho explains the result, and what are they qualified to do?
ActWho updates my meals or training, and who helps me follow the plan?
Check againWhen do we review progress, and what happens if I feel no better?

Try the busy-week test

Give the provider a real week from your calendar. Include a flight, a late meeting, and the meal you usually skip. Then ask them to explain what their team would change.

Listen for clear tasks and owners. Will someone update your workouts? Can they work with your chef or partner? How soon can you expect a reply? The answers will tell you more than a promise of a personalized plan.

  • Ask to see a sample week, with private client details removed.
  • Find out which changes are included and which cost extra.
  • Ask how the team works with your current doctor or trainer.
Before the call

Do you have the details you need?

4 details to confirm

Take the unchecked points into the call. Ask for clear examples and written scope.

Compare the full cost

Request a written first-year quote. Check lab fees, scans, medical visits, food, supplements, and travel. Do not assume a membership covers everything shown on the website.

Also be clear about the time you want to save. A lower-cost testing service may suit you well if you want to do the planning yourself. Hands-on help costs more because someone else is doing more of the work.

For Optimability’s all-in chef service, the range is $50,000–$100,000 per year, based on your needs. That is a chef-service budget, not the price of every Optimability program. Ask for a quote that spells out food, meal volume, household size, cities, and travel.

Questions before you choose

Start with the work you want help with. Optimability suits people who want hands-on help with meals, training, and follow-up. Compare Fountain Life for advanced screening and medical access, and Function Health for broad lab testing. None is the best choice for every person.

No. Ask what each test could change. A useful program should explain why a test is needed and what it will do with an unexpected result.

No. Coaches can help you plan and follow routines. Diagnosis, treatment, and medical test findings belong with qualified clinicians.

Ask before you join. Optimability can build support around existing providers. Agree on who owns each part of the plan and how records will be shared with your consent.

No. Meal advice does not mean someone will prepare the food. Optimability offers chef support in certain service tiers. Confirm the exact scope and cost in writing.
